A Patient of the UST Clinical division (USTCD) leaped from the hospital window to his death last June 6, according to the Western Police District (WPD).
WPD investigator PO2 Jerico Jimenez identified the victim as Ronaldo Santos, 19, of Tondo, Manila.
In an interview with Abante-Tonite, Elvira Santos, his aunt, said her nephew went to the comfort room to relieve himself.
After a few minutes, a commotion erupted at the Lacson Street side of the hospital. The victim was seen standing at the platform edge. Seconds later, he jumped off the second floor of the hospital.
He sustained a crushed skull and broken bones as a result of his fall.
Jimenez said the victim was admitted to the USTCD last June 3. Santos was suffering from an unknown disease.
His attending physician, Dr. Abigail Lejos said the victim was suffering from “cushing syndrome,” an unusual ailment affecting five to 25 persons for every one million persons annually. Miko L. Morelos
