THE CENTER for Professional Development and Consultancy Services (CPDCS) will hold a seminar-workshop on vicarious trauma among print and media practitioners on May 24 at the Thomas Aquinas Research Complex (TARC) seminar-workshop rooms.

Open to all journalists and media practitioners, the seminar, “Vicarious Traumatization Among Journalists and Media Practitioners,” also aims to help media practitioners cope with the traumatic nature of their profession.

“This seminar has a very timely subject because journalists are the targets of traumatic situations nowadays as you can read in the newspaper, be it in the international or local media scene,” CPDCS director Maria Lourdes Medina said.

Dr. Johnny Decatoria, a diplomat of the New York-based American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress and a consultant of the UST Graduate School Psycho-traumatic Clinic, will be one of the speakers. Jianne dL. Yamzon
