THE QUADRICENTENNIAL academic year opened Tuesday with the Pope’s
representative reminding Thomasians of their important role in
spreading the Christian “ethos.”
In his homily during the annual Misa de Apertura (Opening Mass),
Archbishop Edward Joseph Adams, apostolic nuncio to the Philippines,
reiterated the Thomasian community’s responsibilities to the “truth.”
“God calls to work for the truth, to come to the truth, to understand
it more deeply, and to make it known to others,” Adams said.
The Mass was attended by administrators, deans, academic officials,
non-teaching employees, alumni, and students.
Rector Fr. Rolando de la Rosa, O.P., and Vice Chancellor Fr. Quirico
Pedregosa, O.P. were co-celebrants.
The Discurso de Apertura (opening lecture) was delivered by Faculty of
Civil Law Dean Nilo Divina. Rommel Marvin C. Rio
