August 29, 6:50 p.m.- POSTING a formidable 99.34 percent passing rate, the University ranked third in the July 2010 nursing licensure examination, with 14 Thomasians in the top 10.

Of the 454 Thomasian takers, 451 passed, all of them first-time takers.

Leading the new Thomasian nurses are Allyce Joana de Leon and Anna Vanessa Ang Gan who shared the third spot with a score of 86 percent. Also making it to the top 10 are Weena Marie Lim (85.60 percent) in the fifth spot, Jan Christian Feliciano (85.20 percent) in seventh place, Kea Tena Kapio, Ana Francesca Centeno, Rouella Christina Fajardo, Renan James Lim and Laurence Lester Tan (85 percent) in the eighth place, Elaine Katrina Cala and Julie Ann Clarin (84.80 percent) in the ninth spot, and Edwin del Rosario II, Eunice Empeño, and Micca Lagleva (84.60 percent), 10th place.

Out of the 91,008 takers nationwide, only 37,679 or 41.40 percent passed the licensure exam, lower than last year’s 41.87-percent national passing rate.

Last year, UST was the second top-performing school with a 99-percent passing rate, with 26 Thomasians in the top 10.  Jilly Anne A. Bulauan
