March 15, 2: 31 p.m. – CLASSES will be suspended on Monday from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. as the Rector, Fr. Rolando de la Rosa, O.P., will deliver his “end-term report,” a memorandum issued by the Office of the Secretary General said.

The Rector’s report will be delivered during the 8 a.m. faculty convocation at the Quadricentennial Pavilion.

“The attendance of academic and administrative officials, faculty members, support staff and student representatives … is enjoined,” Secretary General Fr. Florentino Bolo Jr., O.P. said.

De la Rosa is set to step down to pave the way for the election of a new Rector, although he is still eligible for another term. De la Rosa, a former religion editor of the Varsitarian, took over the post in 2007 following an intra-order dispute over the redevelopment UST Hospital.

He had served two terms from 1990 to 1998. De la Rosa was chairman of the Commission on Higher Education from 2004 to 2005. Daphne J. Magturo
