May 29, 2012, 9:13 p.m.: IT WILL be a do-or-die game on Thursday as the UST Lady Spikers yielded to San Sebastian College-Recolletos in Game 2 of their best-of-three series for a finals slot in the 9th Shakey’s V-League.

A dismal fifth-set performance by the Lady Spikers allowed the Lady Stags to tie the series at one apiece in the Final Four clash at the Arena in San Juan Tuesday evening, 25-22, 27-29, 25-14, 23-25, 12-15.

The Lady Stags capitalized on Lady Spiker Dancel Dusaran’s erratic defense by orchestrating a commanding 9-1 rally to forge a do-or-die Game 3 on Thursday.

“The last set was very unfortunate. We were up 11-6 but our players failed to deliver. We had four errors, plus we didn’t receive the ball well so that really hurt us,” coach Odjie Mamon said.

Judy Caballejo and guest player Utaiwan Kaensing top-scored for UST with 25 and 20 points, respectively. San Sebastian guest player Jeng Baulee put up another dominant outing by recording a tournament-high 40 markers. J. A. R. Nisay
