14 September 2012, 3:17 p.m. – THE UNIVERSITY was again declared the lone top-performing school in the September 2012 examinations for electrical engineers, with two Thomasians entering the Top 10 list.

Data from the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) showed UST posted a passing rate of 87.50 percent, with 56 out of 64 Thomasian examinees making the cut. This was, however, lower than last year’s 90 percent, in which 63 passed out of 70 examinees.

Of the 63 first-time takers, 56 passed the licensure exam, PRC data showed.

Thomasians Aldrick Arceo (89.60 percent) and Airalynne Torres (89.45 percent) placed seventh and eighth, respectively.

Last year, the University was also the only top-performing school, but no Thomasian landed on the Top 10.

This year’s national passing rate went down to 53.24 percent, with 1,569 out of 2,947 examinees making the cut. Last year’s national passing rate was 58.02 percent. Cez Mariela Teresa G. Verzosa
