14 April 2013, 5:36 p.m. – THE UST Lady Spikers banked on the solid efforts of sophomore Pamela Lastimosa down the stretch to upend De La Salle-Dasmariñas, 25-23, 25-23, 25-20, in the Shakey’s V-League at The Arena in San Juan Sunday afternoon.

Lastimosa finished with 15 points and three blocks to lead UST to its first win of the season. Former team captain and guest player Aiza Maizo and Carmela Tunay added 15 and 11 points, respectively.

“When we’re down (in third set) the team lost its mental toughness. Nawalan kami ng receive kasi walang gustong kumuha ng bola,” coach Odjie Mamon said.

With UST down by four in the third set, Lastimosa unloaded five points and a block to spark a 9-1 run and finish off the Lady Patriots.

UST will next face San Sebastian College on Thursday, April 18, at the same venue. Celton F. Ramirez
