June 09, 2015, 4:34 p.m. – UST’s Office of Public Affairs (OPA) on Tuesday admitted
the museum’s website  “has been compromised” but said “the damage is
limited to the said website.”

“We are currently addressing this
unfortunate incident. Online access to this site is temporarily unavailable,”
UST said in a statement.

On Monday, the UST Museum’s website
was defaced with defamatory words opposing the joint action of the Philippines
and Vietnam to counter Beijing’s aggression in disputed waters of the South
China Sea.

A group of
suspected Chinese hackers known as 1937CN Team, which supports China’s
territorial claims, was said to be behind the hacking incident. Dayanara
