October 5, 2015, 11:10p.m. – AFTER a successful European tour, the UST Singers will stage “A Joyful Noise! A Thanksgiving Concert” on Oct. 10, 8 p.m., at the Tanghalang Nicanor Abelardo (Main Theatre) of the Cultural Center of the Philippines.

In the recent Florence International Choir Festival, the UST Singers bagged first place in four categories, garnered eight awards, and took home the coveted Golden David Trophy for being the overall best choir of the competition.

“It has always been the trademark of the UST Singers to present a varied repertoire during concerts, so this is exactly what the audience can expect on Saturday: a mix of serious and technical contemporary sacred and international pieces in the first half of the concert, and some light entertainment composed of Filipino folk songs, popular songs and some selections from Broadway in the second part,” said Karl Nicholas Lauron, president of the UST Singers, in an interview with the Varsitarian.

The thanksgiving concert will also serve as a send-off concert as the two-time Choir of the World champions will leave the country again for an international tour covering the cities of Changwon, Jinju, Daegu, Busan and Seoul in South Korea. M. C. A. Fernandez
