January 25, 2016, 10:46a.m. – CEBU CITY — CATECHESIS and a series of talks, including a session with a former master of the Order of Preachers, will fill up the second day of the 51st International Eucharistic Congress (IEC).

Peruvian Archbishop Miguel Cabrejos Vidate will deliver a catechesis at the IEC Pavillion on Colossians 1:27, talking of Christ being the “hope of glory.” The catechesis will be followed by a testimony from Hong Kong Bishop Emeritus Joseph Cardinal Zen.

A press conference with the speakers for Day 2 will take place at the media center of the pavilion.

Former Master of the Order of Preachers Fr. Timothy Radcliffe, O.P. will give a talk on the Christian virtue of hope. Also set to give talks on the different aspects and issues surrounding  the Eucharist are Fr. Paul Vu Chi Hy, a theology professor at St. Joseph’s Seminary in  Hanoi, Vietnam; and philosophy and theology professor Fr. Francis Moloney of the Dominican School of Philosophy and Theology in California.

Georgian Ambassador to the Vatican Tamara Grdzelidze will talk about women’s missionary role in the Church.

Church officials said Papal Legate Charles Maung Cardinal Bo of Myanmar was expected to visit inmates at a local prison today. Lea Mat P. Vicencio
