THE UNIVERSITY clinched the third spot among top-performing schools in the November 2019 licensure examinations for chemical engineers.
With a passing rate of 82.95 percent or 73 out of 88 examinees, UST stood at No. 3 among schools with 50 or more examinees and a passing rate of at least 80 percent.
This was almost similar to last year’s 82.93 percent, or 102 out of 123 examinees.
The University of the Philippines (UP) Diliman was named top-performing school anew after posting a 100-percent passing rate. All 119 UP examinees made the cut.
Martin Zechariah Valencia of De La Salle University Manila led the newest batch of Filipino chemical engineers, with a score of 86.10 percent.
The national passing rate rose to 71.41 percent, or 899 out of 1,259 examinees, from last year’s 70.66 percent, or 737 out of 1,043 examinees.
