THE UST Singers and AB Chorale kickstarted Christmas festivities in UST with the concert “Christmas Sparkle,” held at the UST Museum last Nov. 29.

The concert, which also marked the AB Chorale’s silver anniversery, was divided in two parts: an acapella of classic Filipino songs and a medley of Christmas pop songs.

Asst. Prof. Fidel Gener Calalang Jr. conducted for the UST Singers, while AB Chorale conductor Mark Raeniel Agpasa led the concert production.

“[The support of Thomasians] clearly shows the cultural appreciation of the University is high,” Agpasa said in an interview with the Varsitarian.

The UST Singers performed a medley of Christmas classics “Kampana ng Simbahan,” “Kumukutikutitap,“ “Sana Ngayong Pasko,” “It’s The Most Wonderful Time of the Year” and “We Wish You A Merry Christmas.”

“We want to share the importance of celebrating Christmas and recognizing the birth of Christ. Christmas time is always about music,” Calalang said.

“We want to let the Thomasian community know that this is our way of showing the Christmas season, through our music and through our songs,” he added. S.B.F. Navarro
