UST Tiger TV won four awards in the 82nd Intercollegiate Broadcasting System (IBS) College Media Conference, whose winners were announced on March 6.

Three Thomasian jocks won the Len Mallioux Management Award for the college television category. The award is named after Len Mallioux, a long-time news director and programmer for Boston radio and educator at Simmons College.

Journalism senior Kobe Dayao and communication senior Gillian Kaye Estera were named Best Sports Director and Best Business Director, respectively.

Tiara Garma, an advertising senior, won Best Creative Services Director.

Artlet sophomores Paolo Alejandrino (communication) and Jullianne Mora (journalism) won the Best Event Promo award for Tiger TV’s 2021 Virtual Send-Off.

The Virtual Send-Off replaced the University’s annual Baccalaureate Mass amid the pandemic, allowing graduating students to virtually exit the Arch of the Centuries through UST Minecraft.

Four other Thomasians were named finalists in the Len Mallioux Management award:

  • Maria Gabriel Jopillo,Best Station Manager
  • Jasmin Beatriz Maat,Best Social Media Director
  • Ayra Ganal,Best Business Director

Tiger TV adviser Asst. Prof. Faye Abugan was nominated for Best Faculty Adviser.

Last year, Tiger TV bagged the Best Live Broadcast Promotional Event and Best Use of Graphics awards at the conference.

The IBS Media Awards is part of the annual multimedia conference organized by IBS, the oldest collegiate broadcasting association in the United States.
