UST Rector Fr. Richard Ang, O.P., has appointed the director of the UST Human Resources Department (HRD) as the new dean of the Faculty of Arts and Letters (Artlets), the oldest liberal arts college in the Philippines, the Varsitarian has learned.
HRD Director Jacqueline Kaw, a lawyer and faculty member at the Faculty of Civil Law, will replace Prof. Marilu Madrunio, who served a three-year term as Artlets dean.
Kaw will start her term as Artlets dean beginning the second term of Academic Year 2022-2023.
Kaw graduated magna cum laude from Artlets with a bachelor’s degree in legal management in 2002.
She earned her law degree at the University in 2006 and passed the bar examinations in the same year.
Kaw obtained her master’s and doctorate degrees in civil law from UST in 2016 and 2019, respectively.
From 2007 to 2008, Kaw worked as a court attorney at the Supreme Court of the Philippines.
Kaw spent nearly all of her teaching years at the Faculty of Civil Law. She served as law faculty secretary from 2008 to 2010.
Kaw had been the UST HRD director since 2010.
