THE UNIVERSITY emerged as the second best performing school in the February 2024 licensure examinations for master plumbers, after logging an 81.67-percent passing rate. 

UST also became the top producer of master plumbers after 49 out of 60 Thomasian examinees made the cut.

This was better than the 64.71-percent passing rate tallied by UST in July 2023, wherein 44 out of 68 Thomasians passed. 

Arllan Santillan of the University of Mindanao-Davao City led the batch of new master plumbers after scoring 88.80 percent.

De La Salle University-Manila was named the top-performing school after all its 14 examinees passed.

Marvin Uy, former Varsitarian assistant photo editor, was among the successful examinees.

The national passing rate for master plumbers inched up to 44.35 percent (1,594 of 3,594) this cycle from 44 percent (2,247 of 5,107) in the previous exams.

The February 2024 master plumber board exams were conducted on Feb. 15 and 16.
