TIGER Trackster Hokett de los Santos achieved his goal of breaking the UAAP men’s decathlon record, while Lianne Pama reset her 200-meter dash record on Day 2 of the UAAP Season 86 athletics tournaments at the PhilSports Track Oval in Pasig on Thursday, Nov. 23.

De los Santos, whose goal prior to the start of the athletics event had been breaking the decathlon record, garnered 6,739 points, surpassing Janry Ubas’ nine-year-old record (6,529) set in Season 77 on December 7, 2014.

De los Santos tallied the highest outputs in the men’s 100-meter dash, 400-meter dash, 1500-meter run, shot put, discus throw and pole vault events to set the new record.

The UST Tiger Tracksters notched four gold medals with two new UAAP records
The Female Tracksters registered three gold medals in the women’s division, while the Male Tracksters nabbed a lone gold in the men’s division.

Lianne Pama nabbed gold and broke another of her UAAP records after clocking 24.16 seconds in the women’s 200-meter dash event, breaking her record of 24.35 seconds from last year.

Jeanne Arnibal also kept her stellar rookie season after posting 12.2 meters to capture the gold medal in the women’s triple jump event.

Lanie Carpentero added a gold medal for UST, registering 45.06 meters in the women’s javelin throw.

The Female Tracksters improved to a 4-1-1 gold-silver-bronze medal tally, while the Male Tracksters remain with two gold medals.

The UST Tigers Tracksters will continue their Season 86 campaigns at the same venue today, Nov. 24, at 1 p.m.
