THE UST Golden Sox ended their Philippine Baseball League Open Conference campaign with a 4-11 loss against the De La Salle University Green Batters at the Rizal Memorial Stadium Sunday.
The Golden Sox finished at fourth place behind a 2-3 win-loss record, while the Green Batters placed third with a 3-2 slate.
La Salle started off hot with conversions from Julius Diaz, Jose Antonia Acuña, Vince Flores and Juan Diego Lozano, 4-0.
Leading 4-1 at the bottom of the fourth inning, the Green Batters added three more conversions from Acuña, Flores and Juan Paolo Casas, 7-1.
Golden Sox Mhigeil Cerna got a run for UST at the top of the fifth inning, but the Green Batters pounded three runs, courtesy of Mark Evangelista, Romualdo Rosas and Casas, 8-4.
