A LATE four-point burst towed the UST Growling Tigers past the St. Clare College-Virtual Reality Saints, 78-75, in the Philippine Basketball Association Developmental League at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig Thursday.

Tigers Dave Ando and Brent Paraiso engineered a four-point swing with 20 seconds left in the game for a 78-75 lead.

Junjie Hallare’s game-tying half court shot at the buzzer fell short as UST claimed their sixth win.

“We just executed our game plan and the players did not deviate from the game plan. What they did was just execute everything we’ve prepared,” Tigers head coach Aldin Ayo said.

Paraiso scored 14 points, while Mark Nonoy and Rhenz Abando had 13 markers each.

Joshua Fontanilla led all scorers with 19 points.

UST rose to second place with a 6-2 win-loss card, while St. Clare dropped to third behind a 5-3 slate.

Up next for the Tigers are the Family Mart-Enderun Titans on May 23, Thursday, 2 p.m., at the same venue.
