UST high-flyer SJ Moore is set to return to the NCAA after only playing one UAAP season, joining the College of St. Benilde (CSB) Blazers.

The Varsitarian learned of Moore’s departure from UST on Monday night. On Tuesday, CSB backer Strong Group Athletics announced the 20-year-old’s decision to return to the NCAA.

Moore averaged 19.25 points, 7.26 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game during his senior year in high school for Arellano, but saw limited playing time in his rookie year with UST.

In his lone year with the Tigers, who finished Season 86 with a league-worst 2-12 record, Moore averaged 2.36 points and 1.36 rebounds in 11 games, playing less than eight minutes per game.

In the 3×3 tournament, he averaged 1.75 points in UST’s fourth-place finish.

Moore will sit out the NCAA’s centennial season and will have four years of eligibility beginning Season 101.

He last played for the Growling Tigers in recent off-season tournaments, namely the Pinoyliga Next Man Cup Season 2 and the 17th Filoil EcoOil Preseason Cup.

Moore’s move out of UST paves the way for the Tigers’ new recruits for Season 87, which include Forthsky Padrigao, Zain Mahmood, Kyle Paranada, Geremy Robinson, Ashon Andrews and Leland Estacio.
