THE UST Male Woodpushers reigned over the NU Bulldogs, 2.5-1.5, in the UAAP season 82 men’s chess tournament at the UST Quadricentennial Pavilion Sunday.
Woodpushers Julius Gonzales and Melito Ocsan Jr. both outsmarted Robin Ignacio and Jay Sumagang, respectively.
Samson Lim lost to NU’s Jay Danday while UST’s Brylle Vinluan settled for a draw against King Reyes.
UST remained in second place, rising to a total of 15 points.
The Male Woodpushers will next face the Adamson University Falcons on Oct. 5, Saturday, 1 p.m. at the same venue.
