THE UST Teletigers emerged as champions after overpowering the University of Iloilo Salvaxe Gnari, 3-0, in the Esports AcadArena League of Legends (LoL) Championship at the Conquest Festival in Iloilo last June 23.

This is the Teletigers third-straight collegiate championship. They won their first LoL title in the 2018 Garena LoL Varsity League in January.

“This championship is important to us because it means we’re one of the best collegiate teams in the country. With the win, we’re looking to succeed in national tournaments as well,” team manager Theo Ignacio told the Varsitarian in an online interview.

The squad consists of incoming second year Conservatory of Music student John Daniel Mendoza (top), senior high school students Michael Gonzales (jungle) and Jan Edward Hortizuela (support) and Computer Science students Isiah Loberiza (midlaner), Don Moya (carry) and PJ San Pedro (substitute).

The team took home 20,000 pesos as cash prize.
