THE COLLEGE of Education nailed the University-wide Cheerdance competition honors with a commanding 91.02 per cent rating last Feb. 7.

The local pep squad shocked three other colleges, displaying impressive synchronized routines and breathtaking pyramids in the jam-packed UST gymnasium.

The astounding college support complemented the creative stunts of the Education cheerleaders.

The Faculty of Arts and Letters, also last year’s bridesmaid, was in distant second with 85.27 per cent, while the College of Fine Arts and Design, which won best in costume, earned 80.94 per cent to place third.

The Faculty of Pharmacy placed fourth with 70.25 per cent.

Defending champions UST High school, however, was not in attendance this year.

Salinggawi Dance Troupe mentor Ryan Silva, former Salinggawi president Ma. Dolores de Fiesta, Student Organizations Coordinating Council (SOCC) president Arriane James Javate, and UST Yellow Jackets adviser Robinson Laxa were the judges.

The competition was a project of the SOCC, UST Salinggawi Dance Troupe, and UST Yellow Jackets. Icy M. Luzano
