Oct. 5, 11:16 p.m. – THE UST Tiger Paddlers barged into the finals of the UAAP table tennis tournament after a come-from-behind win against De La Salle University, 3-1, 3-2, at the Blue Eagle Gym early this afternoon.
Raymond Manlapaz played hero for UST by scoring a 3-0 sweep against La Salle’s Ted Yu, 11-6, 11-8, 11-5, in the final match of the semi-final round.
In the third set, the duo of Aaron Morales and Christian Abendan fell victim to Wolden Ledesma and Irvin De Pedro of La Salle, 0-3, 11-13, 6-11, 4-11. UST’s Martin Diaz also got swept in the second set, 5-11, 8-11, 7-11, courtesy of La Salle’s Gerald Cristobal.
