THE UST Tiger Cubs suffered a fourth-quarter meltdown and bowed down to De La Salle Greenhills, 71-73, in the Filoil Flying V Hanes Premier Cup at The Arena in San Juan Saturday.
The Tiger Cubs, who now have a 1-2 win-loss record, were leading, 50-48, after three periods until La Salle came alive with a 13-0 run in the final quarter, 53-63.
The Greenies also capitalized on UST’s woeful freethrow shooting after Jison Miguel missed five crucial free throws in the last frame.
“Basically, kailangan naming mabuo muna. Kailangan makashoot kami ng freethrows kasi ang sama ng free throws namin today. The more we are tired, the more that we have to be consistent in our free throws,” coach Allan Ascue said.
