30 May 2014, 1:36 p.m. - SAN SEBASTIAN College-Recoletos used a pivotal third-quarter stretch to pull away from a struggling UST Tiger Cubs, 66-48, in their Filoil Flying V Hanes Premiere Cup encounter at The Arena in San Juan Friday.

The Cubs lost their last four games and bowed out of the tournament with a 1-4 win-loss record.

With UST trailing by just five points at the end of first half, 27-32, the Golden Staglets used a 9-0 run I n the third period to take a 14-point lead, 41-27.

28 May 2014, 6:47 p.m. - THE UST Tigresses survived a highly physical matchup and edged the Rizal Technological University (RTU), 66-60, en route to a semifinals berth in the Filoil Flying V Hanes Premier Cup at The Arena in San Juan Wednesday.

UST swept the elimination round with a 4-0 win-loss record, despite playing with only eight players against the winless Lady Thunder.

Tigresses Maica Cortes, Lore Rivera, Bettina Peñaflor, Tin Capilit and Angel Anieso were thrown out of the game after engaging in a brawl against RTU’s Rica Francisco in the 6:38 mark of the third canto.

19 May 2014, 8:00 p.m. - THE FAR Eastern University (FEU) Baby Tamaraws crushed a listless UST Tiger Cubs, 63-42, in their Filoil Flying V Hanes Premier Cup encounter at The Arena in San Juan Monday.

The Tiger Cubs lost their third straight game and dropped to 1-3 win-loss record, while FEU remained perfect in three outings.

The Baby Tamaraws led by as much as 28, 57-29, with over four minutes remaining in the final period.

The Cubs were limited to six points in the second quarter as the Baby Tamaraws pulled away for a 35-15 advantage.

17 May 2014, 3:54 p.m. - THE UST Tigresses climbed back from an 18-point deficit in the first half to upset UAAP defending champion De La Salle University, 75-72, in theFiloil Flying V Hanes Premier Cup at The Arena in San Juan Saturday.

Forward Lore Rivera registered a game-high 24 points and 16 boards to steer the Tigresses to a 3-0 win-loss record in the preseason tournament.

Down by six, UST’s Sonia Felisarta tied the ball game at 71-all with only 80 seconds left in regulation.

04 May 2014, 9:55 p.m. - THE UST Tiger Cubs suffered a fourth-quarter meltdown and bowed down to De La Salle Greenhills, 71-73, in the Filoil Flying V Hanes Premier Cup at The Arena in San Juan Saturday.

The Tiger Cubs, who now have a 1-2 win-loss record, were leading, 50-48, after three periods until La Salle came alive with a 13-0 run in the final quarter, 53-63.

The Greenies also capitalized on UST's woeful freethrow shooting after Jison Miguel missed five crucial free throws in the last frame.

25 April 2014, 8:25 p.m. - THE UST Tigresses held off Adamson University's late-game rally to notch their second win, 73-58, in the Filoil Flying V Hanes Premier Cup at The Arena in San Juan Friday.

Tigress Lore Rivera took over in the final quarter, scoring nine of her 22 points as UST cruised to the top spot of Group A with a 2-0 win-loss record.

The Lady Falcons sparked a 14-5 run early in the fourth period, trimming UST's 16-point cushion to just eight, 49-57, until Rivera took over down the stretch.

23 April 2014, 5:25 p.m. - KRISTINE Siapoc exploded for 27 points as she powered the Tigresses to a 73-57 victory over the Centro Escolar University (CEU) Lady Scorpions in the Filoil Flying V Hanes Premier Cup at the Arena in San Juan Wednesday afternoon.

Siapoc, who missed the last UAAP season due to a knee injury, connected on eight three-pointers to anchor the Tigresses to their first win in the preseason tournament.

The Lady Scorpions ignited a 10-0 run midway through the second quarter after capitalizing on UST’s four-straight misses to trim the deficit to three, 32-35.

23 April 2014, 3:20 p.m. - THE UST Tiger Cubs survived a third quarter meltdown and escaped the University of the Philippines (UP) Junior Maroons, 91-86, in their Filoil Flying V Hanes Premier Cup debut at the Arena in San Juan Wednesday afternoon.

Nicole Luna led UST with 19 markers, while Miguel Jison and Vince Ferrer, younger brother of Growling Tiger Kevin Ferrer, added 13 points apiece.

In the second half, the Tiger Cubs led by as much as 12 points after Ferrer completed a three-point play to put UST ahead, 61-49, with five minutes left in the third quarter.
