UST Jins aim for gold in 17th Asian Games

Sept. 27, 2014, 6:09 p.m. – THREE Thomasians
will don the Philippine tri-colors in the 17th Asian Games taekwondo tournament
in Incheon, South Korea.

UST Jins Al de la Cruz, Jane Narra and
Abigail Cham are included in the 12-man lineup that will represent the country
in the tourney slated on Sept. 30 to Oct. 3.

De la Cruz, former UAAP Athlete of the
Year, will test his mettle in the men’s welterweight division.

Meanwhile, UAAP Season 77 gold medalist
Narra and Season 76 Most Valuable Player Cham will compete in the women’s
welterweight and bantamweight division, respectively.

With the three Tiger Jins on board, the
Philippine team is hoping to capture the elusive gold medal in the Asian Games.

The country has yet to finish on top of the podium in taekwondo since it
