cruised to their second straight win after a 9-0 shutout of the Ateneo de
Manila University in the UAAP Season 77 softball tournament at the Rizal
Memorial Stadium Saturday.
UST banked on Anne Antolihao’s prolific pitching and a 6-0
sixth inning to improve to a 2-2 win-loss record.
Kristy Joy Roa continued to deliver for the Tiger Softbelles
after hitting a homerun at the bottom of the sixth that sent Celestine Palma
and Mallows Garde to home base.
Palma, Garde and Charmaine Oria led UST with two runs
apiece.
“Our defense is working. ‘Yung batting ni Roa lumalakas na ulit.
Ang mahalaga dito ‘yung program namin, gumagana na ngayon,” head coach Sandy
Barredo said.
The Tiger Softbelles will try to extend their run against
Final Four tormentors National University on Wednesday, 1 p.m., at the same
