UST GOLDEN Tigresses outside hitter Ysabel Jimenez will be sidelined for at least six weeks after spraining her left ankle, head coach Emilio “Kung Fu” Reyes said.
The sophomore twisted her left ankle during the team’s warm-up drills in their Premier Volleyball League game against Lyceum of the Philippines Lady Pirates.
“[W]ala pang dalawang minuto, [g]rabe na ‘yong maga. Noong pumasok dito (sa dugout), mas lumaki (‘yong maga) so unusual ‘yong gano’ng sprain,” Reyes told the Varsitarian.
Jimenez was rushed to the UST Hospital where examination showed she suffered a sprain but no fracture.
Despite her absence, the Tigresses started off their PVL campaign with a sweep of LPU.
