The UST Tiger Paddlers clinched a spot in the Final Four after securing three wins on Day 3 of the UAAP Season 85 men’s table tennis tournament at the Makati Coliseum on Tuesday.

Prince Garcia and Al Sanchez completed UST’s sweep of the Soaring Falcons after blasting Adamson’s Jhon Balucos and John Lagorra in doubles play, 11-9, 10-12, 11-3, 11-9. 

The Tiger Paddlers scored their second victory after going 3-1 against the De La Salle Green Archers. 

UST team captain Alvin Sevilla dominated Amiel Aroma in singles play, 11-7, 11-2, 11-9, while Manny De Leon and Al Sanchez swept DLSU’s Patrick Pasumbal and Peter Zambrano in their doubles match, 11-6, 11-9, 11-8.

Elijah Yamson toppled UST’s Eljay Tormis, 11-8, 10-12, 12-10, 11-5, for DLSU’s lone win.

Tiger Paddler John Castro made quick work of Enric Remitio, 11-7, 11-6, 11-7, to seal UST’s win over the Green Archers.

Prince Garcia and Odree Maldia capped the day for the Tiger Paddlers with a sweep of UE’s Laridje Legaspi and Kevin Muriel,11-8, 11-7, 11-6.

In the juniors division, the boys’ team improved to a 6-1 standing after defeating the UP Integrated School and University of the East. 

The second round eliminations of the men’s table tennis tournament will end on Thursday, Nov. 24, at the same venue. Bjorn Del B. Deade
