THE UST Prime took home the gold medal in the Crissa Dance Synergy 13 Nationals at the University of the Philippines Theater last Nov. 11.

Prime, formerly known as UST Hype, ruled the college category, beating the UP Streetdance Club and the University of San Carlos-Talamban, which settled for silver and bronze, respectively.

“Ang saya sa feeling na manalo kasi the competition was really tough and ‘di namin ine-expect ang championship pero ang sarap sa feeling na all our hard work paid off,” Prime team captain Anna Isip told the Varsitarian in an online interview.

Prime competed in the Luzon leg of the competition last Oct. 30 at the Tanghalang Pasigueño in Pasig City to qualify for the Nationals.

Crissa Dance Synergy 13 is an annual all-girls competition that features some of the best dance groups from all over the country. It is organized by Acts Events Management.

Aside from Prime, the tournament was participated by the Far Eastern University Dance Company, Company of Ateneo de Manila University Dancers, Asia Pacific College Dance Company, Ateneo de Zamboanga University’s Blue Vigor, University of Mindanao’s Diadem, Miriam College’s Company of One, Polytechnic University of the Philippines’ Ace Prime Dancers, University of the Asian and the Pacific’s Squadra Dance Varsity, University of the East’s Armada, UP Manila’s Indayog Dance Varsity and the De La Salle University Dance Company-Street.
