Male Tigersharks deliver for UST

THE UST Male Tigersharks collected one silver and one bronze medal in Day 3 of the UAAP Season 81 swimming tournament at the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex Saturday. 

The Male Tigersharks improved to third place with 134 points while the Female Tigersharks remained at third behind 106 points.

UST’s Christian Paul Anor landed second in the 100-meter backstroke event after clocking 1:01.11.

Anor then bagged bronze in the 200-meter freestyle after registering 1:59.71, behind Ateneo de Manila University and De La Salle University, respectively. 

“The team fought hard today pero hindi dapat maging complacent. They should maintain momentum pa, “UST head coach Cyrus Alcantara told the Varsitarian.

In the juniors’ division, the Junior Tigersharks reaped one gold, three silvers and four bronze medals while their female counterparts hauled three golds. 

Junior Female Tigersharks Alexandra Bonite, Sofia Margarita Canlas, Julianne Javier and Anna Althea Articona set a new UAAP record in the 200-meter freestyle relay event after a 1:54.47 output.

UAAP swimming will resume tomorrow, Sunday, at the same venue.
