THE UST Junior Tigersharks continued to display their dominance, bagging 17 medals on Day 2 of the UAAP Season 86 high school swimming tournaments at the Teofilo Yldefonso Swimming Pool on Friday.

The Junior Male Tigersharks racked up three gold, three silver and four bronze medals in the boys’ division, while the Junior Female Tigersharks capped the day with three golds, two silvers and two bronzes in the girls’ division. Their medal tallies improved to 7-4-7 and 5-4-3, respectively, through two days.

Junior Male Tigersharks Marcus de Kam, Renz Santos and Ivan Radovan completed a podium sweep in the 400-meter freestyle event.

Santos spearheaded another podium sweep by UST, notching gold in the 100-meter individual butterfly event, while Hugh Parto and Radovan bagged the silver and bronze medals. 

Joaquin Mirasol clocked 31.78 seconds to win bronze in the 50-meter breaststroke event. 

De Kam and Yohan Cabana grabbed the silver and bronze medals in the 200-meter backstroke event. 

UST’s quartet of Jabrielle Delizo, Jacob Tejada, Rylan Belen and Emmanuel Austria registered 3:43.29 to clinch gold in the 400-meter freestyle relay.

In the girls’ division, Junior Female Tigersharks Sealtiel Daiz, Gerice Oyaman, Kristine Uy and Laureen Daiz clocked 4:19.61 to rule the 400-meter freestyle relay.

Daryn Santa Maria recorded 4:52.84 and settled for bronze in the 400-meter freestyle event.

Clara de los Santos and Anna Hanson secured the gold and bronze medals in the 50-meter breaststroke event. 

Patricia Santor and Sinagtala Cuevas bagged the gold and silver medals in the 100-meter freestyle event, while Ishaelle Villa reaped silver in the 200-meter backstroke event. 

Meanwhile, UST ended the day with one gold in the men’s division and one silver in the women’s division, improving to 2-1-0 and 1-3-2 gold-silver-bronze medal hauls, respectively. 

Tigershark Jules Mirandilla logged 55.92 seconds to secure gold in the 100-meter individual butterfly event, while John Paderes clocked 2:12.80 to settle for silver in the 200-meter individual backstroke event. 

In women’s play, Alyza Ng secured the Female Tigersharks’ lone gold medal after registering 33.90 seconds in the 50-meter breaststroke event, while Shairinne Floriano copped silver with a 1:03.80 performance in the 100-meter individual butterfly event.

The UST Tigersharks will continue their Season 86 run at the same venue tomorrow, Nov. 25, at 8:30 a.m.
