Daquioag carries UST past Cobras in FilOil

May 3, 2015, 7:28 p.m. - VETERAN Ed Daquiaog carried an undermanned UST Growling Tigers to a 66-59 victory against the Southwestern University Cobras in the 2015 Filoil Flying V Hanes Premier Cup at The Arena in San Juan Wednesday.

Trailing by two points at the five-minute mark of the game, 52-54, the Growling Tigers unleashed a 14-5 run against the Cobras, with 12 points coming from Daquiaog, to steal the victory.

Ferrer lifts Growling Tigers past UP

May 20, 2015, 9:46 p.m. - KEVIN Ferrer powered the UST Growling Tigers to a 76-72 victory over the University of the Philippines Fighting Maroons in the 2015 Filoil Flying V Hanes Premier Cup at the San Juan Arena Wednesday.

Ferrer, who returned from a stint with the Sinag Pilipinas national team in the Southeast Asian Basketball Association championships, finished with 19 points as the Tigers won their second game in four outings.

CFAD wins third straight Cheermania title

April 30, 11:02 a.m. - THE UST College of Fine Arts and Design (CFAD) One Shade Dance Squad secured the 2015 Cheermania championship, winning three years in a row in the University-wide cheerdance competition held at the Plaza Mayor Tuesday.

Showing off a near-perfect Tahitian-inspired routine, highlighted by seven-man pyramid stunts, One Shade scored a total of 936.5 points to take home first place and a cash prize of P15,000.

Male Woodpushers bag bronze; Female Woodpushers remain at 5th

March 2, 2015, 8:35 p.m. - THE UST Male Woodpushers settled for third place, while the Female Woodpushers failed to secure a podium finish anew at the end of the UAAP Season 77 chess tournament at the De La Salle Henry Sy Hall Sunday.

UST scored a total of 33.5 points in the men's division with an 8-2-4 win-draw-loss card.

La Salle dethroned Far Eastern University with 40.5 points followed by Adamson University with 37.

UST Golden Sox upset Ateneo

Feb. 23, 2015, 3:30 p.m. - IMPROVED pitching fueled the UST Golden Sox to a huge 7-1 upset of defending champion Ateneo de Manila University in the UAAP Season 77 baseball tournament at the Rizal Stadium Sunday.

UST arrested its six-game losing skid to keep its slim chance of making it in the Final Four with a 3-6 win-loss card.

Golden Tigresses destroy UE, secure Final Four playoff

Feb. 21, 2015, 10:20 p.m. - THE UST Golden Tigresses kept their flickering Final Four hopes alive after dismantling a hapless University of the East Lady Warriors in straight sets, 25-10, 25-22, 25-11, to cap the elimination round of the UAAP Season 77 women's volleyball tournament at the Arena in San Juan Saturday.

The Golden Tigresses will have a chance to book a semifinals berth after finishing the elimination round with a 6-8 win-loss card.

Feb. 15, 2015, 10:51 p.m. - THE UST Male Woodpushers triumphed over the University of the Philippines, 3-1, but the Female Woodpushers succumbed to top seed De La Salle University, 1-3, in the elimination round of the UAAP chess tournament at the DLSU Henry Sy Sr. Hall Sunday.

UST's Timothy So Kua, Steven Dacanay and Christian Flores prevailed against their UP foes as UST remains in second place behind La Salle with a 5-1-2 win-loss-draw card for 22.5 points. The Green Archers lead the pack with 25 markers.

UP hands Golden Sox third straight loss

Feb. 8, 2015, 6:20 p.m. - THE UST Golden Sox failed to catch up in the sixth inning and crashed to a 4-11 defeat against the University of the Philippines to cap the first round of the UAAP Season 77 baseball tournament at the Rizal Memorial Stadium Sunday.

The Golden Sox were trailing by only four points in the sixth inning when UP scored three runs, two from a hit by Timothy Cu which allowed back-to-back conversions from Jose San Juan and James Legaspi to finish the match, 11-4.
