July 7, 2016, 8:18p.m. – THE UST Junior Golden Tigresses ended the two-year championship streak of the National University, 21-25, 25-20, 25-23, 13-25, 15-4, to claim the Shakey’s Girls’ Volleyball League of Champions title at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig Thursday.
Eya Laure led the Junior Tigresses in the deciding set, 9-1, before finishing off NU with an off-speed hit.
Laure went home with the MVP and First Best Open Spiker awards while fellow Tigress Janna Torres was named Second Middle Blocker. Regina Mangulabnan and Bernadette Pepito were awarded Best Setter and Best Libero, respectively.
