THE UST Junior Golden Tigresses clinched their third straight win against the UE Junior Lady Warriors, 25-18, 25-15, 25-22, in the UAAP Season 79 girls’ volleyball tournament at the Adamson University Gym Saturday.
UST finished with 20 kills and 11 service aces to improve to 3-0 after committing 35 unforced errors.
The Tigresses ignited a 12-2 blitz to build 22-16 lead late in the third set but UE answered back, cutting the deficit to two, 22-24.
The Lady Warriors slid to 0-3 due to a service error.
“‘Yung mga unforced errors, it’s killing us. Pero mino-mold naman natin na maging consistent sila. At least, alam nila kung paano babawi,” UST head coach Emilio “Kung Fu” Reyes said.
Eya Laure and Baby Love Barbon steered the Tigresses with 10 and nine points, respectively.
The Junior Tigresses led 19-14 at the second set before unleashing a 6-1 run for a 2-0 set advantage.
The Junior Tigresses will face the undefeated Nazareth School of National University Lady Bullpups tomorrow, 7 a.m., at the same venue. Jan Carlo Anolin
