EYA AND EJ Laure propelled UST to a 25-20, 25-16, 25-18 sweep over Far Eastern University to give the Golden Tigresses their first win in the UAAP Season 82 women’s volleyball match at the Mall of Asia Arena Sunday.
Eya Laure led all scorers with 16 points from 14 digs and 3 blocks while EJ added 12 markers.
Returning player Ysa Jimenez closed out the second set with two straight points for the Golden Tigresses.
UST finished FEU off in the first set with a 4-0 run capped by a service ace from EJ Laure.
“Number one adjustment namin is ‘yong constant communication. Lahat ng instructions ay ginagawa nila sa loob, ‘yon ‘yong wala noong first game,” UST head coach Kung Fu Reyes said after the game.
Jeannette Villareal and Czarina Carandang scored 7 points apiece to lead the Lady Tamaraws.
UST will next face the De La Salle University Lady Archers on March 15, Sunday, 10:30 a.m. at the PhilSports Arena. Rommel Bong R. Fuertes Jr.
