New Benavides Library power source installed
THE MIGUEL de Benavidez Library is said to have a better and safer power supply station installed in front of the St. Raymund’s Building by June.
In an interview with the Varsitarian, Buildings and Grounds (B&G) electrical engineer Oliver Gagarin said they built the new structure to temporarily house the library’s 175 kilowatt per hour (kwh) generator and a new 1,000 kilo-volt ampere (kva) transformer to deal with fire hazards.
UST 2nd in ECE, CE exams
UST RANKED second in both the Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) and the Chemical Engineering (CE) professional licensure exams last month.
In the 20 to 49 examinees category of the ECE board, the University registered a 61 per cent passing rate as 14 of the 23 Thomasians who took the exam passed. UST’s passing rate dropped from last year’s 63 per cent.
