Thomasian pieces featured in CCP literary journal

Oct. 16, 2014, 7:34 a.m. - Thomasian writers graced the pages of Ani 38, the official literary journal of the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) launched Wednesday evening in Pasay.

Bearing the theme "Ang Katawan" ("The Human Body"), the 38th issue of the literary journal featured 147 entries including contributions from notable Thomasian writers like Alma Anonas Carpio, Vim Nadera, John Sanchez, and Frank Rivera.

‘Go back to the basics’

15 September 2014, 1:43 p.m. - ACCLAIMED writers urged budding writers to adhere to the most basic principles of writing on the second day of the 10th Creative Writing Workshop sponsored by the Varsitarian, Sunday.

In a round-table discussion, Palanca-winning poets Allan Pastrana, Mookie Katigbak-Lacuesta and Carlomar Daoana emphasized the unwritten rules of poetry that need to be followed even in free writing.

“Writing poetry also has restraints. By writing it, you are trying to restrain yourself,” said Katigbak.
