Upcoming Synod of Bishops to focus on youth

POPE FRANCIS has bared that the youth will be “the center of attention” of an upcoming assembly of bishops from around the world.

In a letter released last Jan. 13, the Holy Father said the Synod of Bishops next year would focus on the topic “Young People, the Faith and Vocational Discernment.”

“I wanted you to be the center of attention, because you are in my heart,” the Pope said.

“The Church also wishes to listen to your voice, your sensitivities and your faith; even your doubts and your criticism. Make your voice heard, let it resonate in communities and let it be heard by your shepherds of souls,” he said.

The Synod will be held in Rome in October 2018.

A website will be launched in March to ask young people about their expectations on the Synod, Radio Vaticana reported.
