THERE is no human need that Jesus cannot address.
This was the message of Manila Archbishop Luis Antonio Cardinal Tagle as he opened the fourth World Apostolic Congress on Mercy (Wacom) at the Manila Cathedral in Intramuros last Jan. 16.
Tagle welcomed over 5,000 local and foreign delegates, calling them “disciples of mercy.”
“We are the disciples of Jesus’ mercy, so that those who are alone, victimized, abandoned, and neglected would know they they have a family,” Tagle said in his homily during the opening Mass.
Hardships, Tagle said, reveal to the people the “real Jesus.”
“Let us continue to show the face of Jesus to the world through acts of mercy. And when we do, let us remember that it is not about us, but about Him,” he said.
The University hosts the second day of Wacom today, Jan. 17.
