MARIAN devotees were reminded to not be hindered by anxieties and fears in fulfilling their mission to guide and strengthen other people, during the enthronement Mass for the image of Our Lady of La Naval de Manila at the Santo Domingo Church last Oct. 3.

“We may be challenged to make bigger decisions. We may fail many times in doing good work but we must also remember the promise of Jesus Christ,” said Fr. Roger Quirao, O.P., prior of the Santo Domingo Convent, in his homily.

He also called on devotees to emulate Mary’s trust and deep faith in the Lord when she accepted the mission of being the mother of Jesus.

Quirao said young people should also look up to Mary as their model in serving the Lord.

“[D]espite her youthful age, she made the biggest and greatest decision of her life. [Si Maria ang] kaagapay ng kabataan sa paglalakbay. [H]er fiat made her our model and companion in our journey towards the kingdom of God.”

(Despite her youthful age, she made the biggest and greatest decision of her life. Mary is the guide of the young people in their journey. Her fiat made her our model and companion in our journey towards the kingdom of God.)

The feast day of Our Lady of La Naval de Manila will be on Oct. 13. M. C. L. Serquiña
