THE UNIVERSITY is vying for its fourth consecutive “School of the Year” award in the prestigious Quill Awards of the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC).

UST has bagged the School of the Year plum for three straight years after winning the most number of awards in the Student Quill Division.

Angelicum College, Bataan Peninsula State University, Colegio de San Juan de Letran Manila and De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde are also nominated for the recognition.

The Philippine Student Quill awards is the junior division of the prestigious Philippine Quill Awards, which honors outstanding communication work by students nationwide.

The Varsitarian and “Botomasino,” the publication’s coverage of the UST student council elections, are both nominated for Top Awards this year in the communication skills and communication management divisions, respectively.

The Top Award is given to entries with the highest scores among excellence awardees per division. Schools with the most Excellence Awards are named School of the Year.

The Student Quill follows a rigid seven-point scoring system set by the International Gold Quill Awards given to top corporations across the globe.

The annual awarding ceremonies are organized by the Philippine chapter of the IABC, a global network of about 15,500 business communicators in 80 countries.

The awarding ceremony will take place on July 5 at the Mariott Grand Ballroom in Pasay.
