THE UST Golden Booters settled for a scoreless draw against the National University Bulldogs in the UAAP Season 80 men’s football tournament at Rizal Memorial Stadium Thursday.
Golden Booter Conrado Dimacali III tried to win the game for UST with a header in extra time but was blocked by NU keeper Chris Perocho.
“Kung ganito ‘yung laro namin, mahihirapan kami makapag-semifinals,” UST head coach Marjo Allado said.
UST’s Marvin Bricenio had a wide-open shot in the 62nd minute but misfired.
The Bulldogs almost scored in the 79th minute with Elmer Sampaga’s attempt but was deflected by UST goalie Ralph Logronio.
The Golden Booters fell to a 2-1-0 win-draw-loss card.
UST will face defending champions Ateneo de Manila University Blue Booters on Feb. 18, Sunday, 4 p.m., at the same venue.
