New rule ok’d for UAAP 67

UNIVERSITIES Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) coaches now have the luxury of having bigger 14-man rotation during games.

This was the latest rule change, which will take effect in the upcoming 67th UAAPseason.

The original proposal was to allow each team to submit 16-man rosters that can all play. But it was narrowed down to 14. In the previous seasons, the league allowed teams to have 16 players in their lineup but only 12 could play.

Tigresses still in contention in Fr. Martin’s Cup

THE UST Tigresses evened their win-loss standing (2-2) as they routed the College of Saint Benilde Lady Blazers, 80-57, in the Fr. Martin’s Cup last May 23 at the San Beda College Gym.

Veteran Juvy Salazar gave the Tigresses an early boost on the offensive end with seven points in the first quarter, mostly on inside incursions. But it was Kath Buyco who gave the Taft-based dribblers the run-around with her outstanding ball handling and a couple of steals, leaving them scoreless during the entire half of the second canto.
