MEDICAL technology freshman Jeigha de Vera was crowned Miss Philippine Society of Medical Technology Students (Phismets) 2019 on March 2.

De Vera bested 14 candidates from different universities. She also received the Miss Photogenic and Miss Theme Wear awards.

“Being crowned Miss Phismeths 2019 [will give] me an opportunity to communicate my purpose to give recognition to the unsung heroes [in] the medical profession,” de Vera told the Varsitarian in an online interview.

De Vera’s partner, medical technology sophomore Shaun Lim, was crowned Mr. Phismets 2019 third runner-up.

De Vera will work alongside the Philippine Association of Schools of Medical Technology and Public Health (Pameth), and represent medical technology students in the National Medical Technology Week this September.

The Mr. and Ms. Phismeths Nationals 2019 was held during the annual Phismeths National Assembly, a search for medical technology student body representatives nationwide.

The Phismets National Assembly is an annual congregation of Pameth member schools, including UST.
