Three outstanding non-academic employees were honored by the University last month at the Santissimo Rosario Parish Church.

Jose Baldin, driver for the Treasurer’s Office since 1960; laboratory assistant Domingo Labog of the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery; and Josephine Mariano of the Accounting Department were each given plaques, cash prizes, and P4,000 worth of tokens during the Non-Academic Employees Recognition Day.

The awards were given based on the employees’ years of service, attendance, performance, discipline records, citations, and the evaluation from peers and the selection committee.

Meanwhile, 75 non-academic employees received citations for length of service, ranging from 10 to 40 years, in the University.

In his keynote address, Center for Education and Research Development director Dr. Allan de Guzman said non-academic employees play indispensable roles in any Catholic institution.

“Non-academic employees are not materials to work in but persons to work with,” he added. Elka Krystle R. Requinta
