TO FOSTER the spirit of truth and press excellence among campus writers all over the country, the Varsitarian, the 82-year-old official student publication of the University of Santo Tomas, will hold , October 18 to 20, at the Thomas Aquinas Research Complex auditorium, UST, España, Manila.

The annual three-day workshop will feature seminars on news, sports, opinion-editorial writing, features, culture and lifestyle, Filipino writing, investigative journalism, photography, cartooning and lay-outing, among others.

The workshop is open to campus journalists, high school journalism instructors, campus press advisers and students.

Invited lecturers include Cristina Pantoja-Hidalgo (associate, UP Diliman Institute of Creative Writing), Quinito Henson (sports columnist, Philippine Star), Conrado de Quiros (columnist, Philippine Daily Inquirer), Cesar Apolinario (news reporter, GMA network), and Manuel “Manix” Abrera (cartoonist, Philippine Daily Inquirer).
