Feb. 10, 2015, 9:06 p.m. – TWO THOMASIANS landed in the
top 10 of the November 2014 Industrial Engineering certification exam, results
from the Industrial Engineering Certification Board (IECB)
showed.

Leading the new batch of certified Thomasian industrial
engineers are seventh-placer Bernard Lorenz Refuerzo, who posted a score of
78.73 percent, and ninth-placer Vincent Alejandrino with a score of 78.18
percent.

UST recorded an 81.25-percent passing rate with a total of
39 passers.

Danna May Mendez of the Mapua Institute of Technology topped
the exam with a score of 84.18 percent.

The national passing rate was 76.20 percent or 205 passers
out of 269 examinees, higher than last year’s 57.74 percent.

The certification exam, which is now on its sixth year, is
given by the Philippine Institute of Industrial Engineers through the IECB and
is a “voluntary process, which validates an individual’s qualifications in the
field of industrial engineering professional practice.” Arianne F. Merez
