UST RECTOR Fr. Herminio Dagohoy O.P. has appointed chairs for three University-wide departments effective Academic Year 2019-2020.
Assoc. Prof. Rachelle Lintao, Assoc. Prof. Archie Resos and Assoc. Prof. Jovito Cariño were named chairs of the English, history and philosophy departments, respectively.
Lintao, who took over from Assoc. Prof. Camilla Vizconde, had served as research associate of the Research Center for Social Sciences and Education.
She also teaches at the Graduate School and the Philippine Normal University’s College of Graduate Studies and Teacher Education Research.
Resos, who finished his doctorate in history in the University in 2014, took over from Assoc. Prof. Augusto de Viana as head of the Department of History.
Cariño took the helm as Department of Philosophy chair, replacing Prof. Paolo Bolaños.
In 2018, Cariño received a Silver Award and an International Publication Award from UST for his research work.
Dagohoy has also named a new chair for the Department of Literature, Assoc. Prof John Jack Wigley.
The English, literature, history and philosophy departments are units under the Faculty of Arts and Letters, but serve the entire University.
